2 Ways To Deep Clean Tile Floor: Follow Any Of The Way
Remember that I am talking about deep cleaning tile floors. Deep cleaning is for those days when you want an extra shine and a healthy and fresh-smelling floor. So, don’t consider my remedies as substitutes for your regular cleaning routine. You should clean the floor every day and deep clean the floors to bring back life to the floor.
Let me tell you my 2 secret remedies for excellent and shiny tile floors:
1. Use Water And Vinegar To Deep Clean Your Tile Floor:
Vinegar is an excellent agent to clean stains and marks from surfaces. However, as it is a bit strong and harsh, you can use it raw on the floor. You have to mix vinegar with other agents to reduce the intensity.
Here, you have to mix vinegar with water. Let’s start the procedure:
Step 1: Make A Mixture:
Firstly, you have to mix vinegar and water to make a solution. Add 1 cup of vinegar with 2 gallons of warm water in a bucket. Mix them well.
Use warm water as this helps dirt and stains to come out easily. Also, the effectiveness of vinegar increases when diluted to warm water.
Step 2: Sweep Or Vacuum Clean The Floor:
Before applying the solution on the floor, sweep the floor properly. Sweep all the loose dirt from the floor and make sure that your floor has no visible dirt.
Otherwise, deep cleaning of the tile floor would be affected as the solution would not reach the tile surfaces properly. Rather it would clean the visible specs of dirt only. You may also vacuum clean the floor to remove the debris. Only then you can start with the process.
Step 3: Mop The Floor:
After you clean the debris from the floor, you have to wet a mop in the solution of vinegar and water. Let the mop be wet and then simply wipe off the floor. Make sure to rub harder on the grouts so that the stubborn marks fade away.
On the stubborn and deep marks and stains, rub the mop more so that they go away. Try pouring some drops of the solution on the marks so that they fade away easily.
Step 4: Let The Floor Dry:
After mopping the floor with the solution, don’t wipe the floor with plain water. Let the vinegar and water solution do the work. You don’t even need to wipe the floor with a dry mop. Just let it dry out naturally and see the stain-free and shiny floor.
2. Use Dishwashing Soap And Vinegar To Deep Clean Your Tile Floor:
And yes, I am again back with a remedy with vinegar! Trust me, vinegar is genuinely the best ingredient to clean your tile floor. Just concentrate on the dilution and amount of vinegar you are using. Excessive vinegar can damage your tiles. Also, don’t use this daily.
Let me tell you the steps of how to use dishwashing liquid and vinegar to deeply clean tile floors:
Step 1: Gather The Materials:
I am mentioning this as a step because you would need a number of items to make this process effective. Let me tell you that this remedy is for hard marks, stains, and discoloration. This remedy would make your tile floor look new.
For this remedy, you require a bucket, white vinegar, water, a spray bottle, soft padded mop, normal mop, dishwashing liquid, and tile cleaning machine (optional). Though a mop is enough, you can keep a tile cleaning machine and scrubber too.
Step 2: Make The Mixture:
Now is the turn to make the solution. Take a spray bottle. Pour a cup of white vinegar into the spray bottle and then add 2-2.5 tablespoons of dishwashing liquid (preferably that contains citric acid). Next, you have to fill the empty portion of the bottle with warm water. Shake the bottle to mix them well.
Step 3: Spray The Mixture:
After mixing the entire solution, spray the solution on the tile floor. Spread carefully all over the floor and pour a bit more on the areas where the stain is stubborn or the discoloration is visible. Spread evenly on the remaining areas.
Step 4: Scrub And Clean The Floor:
After spreading the solution on the floor, you need to scrub the floor with the padded microfiber mop. Gently rub the mop all over the tile in a circular motion so that the dirt and stains can come out easily.
Concentrate more on the areas where the stains and marks are more visible. Scrub hardly on those areas. Focus on the grout areas too as more impurities remain stuck there. You may use a scrubber if the stain is too hard to remove with the mop.
Step 5: Rinse The Floor With Plain Water:
Unlike the previous remedy, here you would need to mop the entire floor once again. As the solution includes dishwashing liquid, the floor becomes a bit sticky and slippery after cleaning with the mixture.
For a finishing touch, you have to rinse your mop and wipe off the floor once again with a clean and wet mop. Wipe the floor with the rinsed mop and see the shine on the floor!
How To Deep Clean Ceramic Tiles Floor?
Many people prefer ceramic tiles on their bathroom floors and walls. As ceramic tiles have rough surfaces, they are safe to use in the bathroom. They are not slippery while porcelain tiles are polished and glossy that people use on the kitchen, bedroom, living room, balcony, or hallway floors.
However, as ceramic tiles are a bit hazy and unpolished in nature, you don’t need to make much effort to clean the ceramic tiles. But you have to remember that more dirt and impurities would be stuck into the unpolished layers of the ceramic tiles. Also, due to the regular exposure to water, moisture, and agents, the ceramic tile floor and walls get dirty and stained very quickly. This means you should clean ceramic tiles from time to time to keep them clean and presentable.
You should clean your bathroom ceramic tiles at least twice a month. If you maintain this routine, mild agents would be enough to keep the tiles stain-free and clean. For regular cleaning, mix warm water and dishwashing liquid in a spray bottle and then spray the solution all over the tiles. Use a flat mop or a toilet brush to clean the floor and walls. Put extra pressure on the grout lines. And then rinse the floor and walls with plain water.
But, since we are talking about deep cleaning the ceramic tile floors, I must mention some ways that would remove hard marks, stains, and dirt. Here are some remedies that you can apply to clean out stubborn marks and stains:
- Pour Coca-Cola:
Coca-cola is not a relaxing drink only but also can remove nasty dark stains from ceramic tiles. Bathroom tiles get layers of iron (from water), soap alkaline, etc. that leave stains and marks. These are generally difficult to remove by regular cleaning.
For such deep and wide stains, you can pour coca-cola directly on the affected areas. You can see a sudden reaction. Let it sit for 15-20minutes on the stain. Then use a toilet brush or scrubber to rub off the area thoroughly. Then wash the areas with water and observe that the stains have vanished!
- Use Hydrogen Peroxide:
Hydrogen peroxide works like magic on stubborn marks. Be cautious while using this as it can burn your skin. Wear hand gloves before using hydrogen peroxide.
For using this, wash the entire bathroom tile with mild detergent and a mop. Use warm water for a better result. After washing the bathroom, you may still see some marks on the tile, especially on the grout lines.
To remove these stains and marks, pour some drops of hydrogen peroxide on the affected areas. Let it be there for 10-15minutes. Then use a stiff brush to scrub over the stain. Rub in a circular motion to clean out the marks easily. After that, wash the areas with plain water. The marks have vanished, haven’t they?
- Use Vinegar And Baking Soda:
We have previously discussed the benefits of vinegar. But for bathroom ceramic tiles, you may need a bit of a harsh agent for deep cleaning.
In this remedy, you have to mix vinegar and baking soda in a spray bottle. You would see the mixture fizzing up due to a reaction. This is the power of the mixture that effortlessly cleans out the marks and stains.
After making the mixture, spray it over the affected areas. You can see the reaction there too. Let the solution settle on the tile so that it takes out the stains from the deep. After 5-10minutes, scrub the layer well and then wash the areas with water. You would see an amazing result.
These are the three amazing treatments for hard and dark stains on ceramic tiles. You can see drastic changes on your tile.
Be cautious while using such harsh agents. Wear gloves before applying these solutions and spread only the amount required. Don’t use excessive amounts of hydrogen peroxide or vinegar+baking soda as they would quickly wear out the tiles.
How To Deep Clean Paint Off The Tile Floor?
After you set up tiles on your newly-made house, you may see paints on the floor and walls. This is very natural to happen. However, the workers often refuse to deeply clean out the paints from the tiles. In that case, you have to clean the paints off the tile floor.
Relax! It is not that hard at least as long as you have my magic remedies! I have two easy remedies for you to clean paint off the tile floor:
1. Use Heat To Remove The Paint:
This method is the most harmless and effective way of cleaning off paint from the floor if you follow the right way. While directly scraping off the floor may harm or scratch the tiles, this method keeps the tiles undamaged.
First, use a heat gun to heat the areas where paints are stuck. Keep moving the heat gun over the area. Don’t keep the heat gun on a specific area for a long time as it may damage the tiles. Also, move the heat gun over an area to avoid direct exposure to heat. Do this for a few minutes until you see the paint loosening up.
Stop the heat gun and then, use a plastic scraper to remove the paint gently. Put the scraper at a 45degree angle to remove the paint easily. Keep pushing the paint layers until they strip off the floor. After that, use warm water and dishwashing liquid to clean and wipe off the tiles and leave a polished and smooth finish.
2. Use An Utility Knife:
Using a utility knife is the most common and less time-consuming way to remove paints off the tile floors.
Place the utility knife at a 45degree angle and then slowly scrape on the paint to let it strip off the floor. But the problem is, if you rub harshly, you would find scratches on the tile. The tiles may even break sometimes. To avoid such results, you should give gentle strokes only on the paint corner so that it doesn’t touch the tiles.
After taking off the paints, you should wipe off the area with a mob. Dip the mop in warm water for a better result.
Be cautious while giving the strokes. Be gentle and patient. Also, wear goggles and gloves while doing the task so that your eyes and skin don’t get exposed to paint dust.
5 Steps To Disinfect Tile Floor:
When we talk about deep cleaning, disinfecting the floor becomes an inclusive part too. It is not enough to remove the stains and marks from the floor but making the floor hygienic is an important part too. Also, disinfecting removes the foul smell from tiles.
